FRUITFUL KICK-OFF MEETING WITH TURKISH
DELEGATION ON ENERGY
By Ahmed Fonike
The Ministry of Energy has had a fruitful kick-off meeting with the Turkish delegation on energy, Monday 22nd May 2017
at the Ministry’s Conference Hall in Freetown. The rationale for this meeting was to fulfill the commitment and promise
made by the Turkish government to help in the energy sector in Sierra Leone.
It could be recalled that recently, President Koroma and the Energy Minister, Ambassador Henry Macauley were in Turkey
to strike some development and investment ties with the Turkish people. As a quick response, the Turkish delegation
wasted no time in traveling to Sierra Leone and are now here to honor the call of the energy sector. The delegation is here
for a weeklong assessment of the sector to see areas of intervention.
